Nipsey Hussle will be the subject of a docuseries in 2023 from LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Hussle’s Marathon Films. From the rapper’s early years growing up in Crenshaw through his career as a musician and activist, the project will provide a detailed account of his life.
Exclusive access to Nipsey’s inner circle, never-before-seen archival material, and interviews with more than 50 of his friends and family, including Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, and Lauren London, are among the highlights of the docuseries, according to Deadline.
One9, a director nominated for an Emmy, directed and executive produced the series (Nas: Time is Illmatic). Emani and Kross, two of Nipsey’s kids, along with James, Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Philip Bryon, are executive producers as well.
LeBron stated that it was a great honor for SpringHill to help share Nipsey’s legacy and story with the globe. “He used his talent to support his neighborhood and demonstrated what it meant to uplift, inspire, and empower others along the way. To this day, his words, his aspirations, and his deeds continue to inspire me, our business, and people everywhere.
The family has taken the necessary time and care to guarantee that Nipsey’s life narrative is recorded and presented appropriately, said Hussle’s older brother Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom.
