Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 70, is running for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He is regarded as a political godfather in the south-west region, although he has been haunted by claims of corruption and poor health, both of which he rejects.

In the 1990s, he was pushed into exile by former military dictator Sani Abacha for his efforts in the pro-democracy National Democratic Coalition (Nadeco) party.
His campaign has vowed to give Nigerians “renewed hope,” but it has also sparked controversy, such as when Mr Tinubu claimed powerful forces of plotting against him in order for him to lose the election.
Some further argue that his campaign slogan, Emi Lokan, which means “it’s my turn [to be president]” in Yoruba, demonstrates a sense of entitlement.
