Nigerian veteran rapper and Nollywood actor, Ikechukwu Onunaku, has confirmed the end of his marriage.
The rapper, who married his fiancée, Ella, in May 2021, revealed in a recent interview with media personality Daddy Freeze that irreconcilable differences led to the breakup.
According to Ikechukwu, the split wasn’t due to infidelity but rather a culmination of issues including gaslighting, excessive fault-finding, and external interference.
He expressed efforts to salvage the relationship but eventually reached a point where he couldn’t tolerate his ex-wife’s behavior anymore.
In another revelation, Ikechukwu shared that D’banj, the founder of the now-defunct Mohits Records, used to pay him only N50,000 from shows where he earned N1 million. However, after confronting D’banj, the amount was increased to N150,000, a decision influenced by D’banj’s mother, who had significant sway at the record label.
