Uriel Oputa Says She’s Done Cooking for Men: “Peace of Mind Over Pots and Pans”
Uriel Oputa has had enough of trying to win hearts through the kitchen.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate took to Instagram with a bold announcement: she’s officially retiring from cooking for men. And no, it’s not about the food.
“There’s no magic dish that’ll make a man stay,” Uriel said with conviction. “You could be the best cook in the world. You could have the body of a goddess. If he wants to mess up, he still will.”
In her view, no matter how much effort you pour into keeping a relationship running smoothly, it all boils down to one thing: choice.
“If a man wants to stay, he’ll stay. No recipe, no secret. Just his decision,” she added.
Uriel’s message wasn’t just about relationships—it was about reclaiming her energy. “As for me? I’m no longer cooking for any man. I choose peace. That’s my portion control now. Happy Thursday,” she signed off.
But that wasn’t all she had to say this week.
Following the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Uriel shared her thoughts about the event—particularly the fashion highlights. While BBNaija stars Liquorose and Prince Nelson walked away with the Best Dressed Female and Male awards respectively (along with ₦1 million each), Uriel thinks she could’ve taken the crown… if only she arrived on time.
“This isn’t shade, everyone looked absolutely gorgeous,” she wrote on Instagram. “But let’s be real, the only reason I didn’t win Best Dressed is because I got there late. Nobody can convince me that my dress didn’t slay.”
Looks like next year, Uriel won’t just be showing up—she’ll be showing out early.
