Nollywood star Bimbo Thomas has opened up about why she hasn’t been as frequent on screen in recent years.
According to the Omo Ghetto: The Saga actress, she stepped back because she didn’t want to be tied down to just one type of role. She revealed that many producers kept offering her similar characters, which left her feeling boxed in.
Bimbo explained that she has the range to play diverse personalities—whether it’s a polished, classy character or a street-style role—and doesn’t want to be seen in just one light.
She also pointed out that while she can act in pidgin English, it isn’t natural to her since she didn’t grow up speaking it.
“I felt like they wanted to put me in a corner,” she said. “One moment I’m speaking polished English, the next I’m cast in a ghetto role. But pidgin isn’t really my thing—I wasn’t raised in that environment.”
Meanwhile, fellow actress Lilian Esoro recently shared her thoughts on the value of friendship. In a post on Instagram, she encouraged people to remain loyal to their friends, especially in tough times, rather than walking away for selfish reasons.
She reminded her followers that the comfort of certain situations may be temporary, but genuine friendships are meant to last.
