Veteran musician Daddy Showkey recently shared a heartwarming story about how he got started on Instagram—with a little help from Wizkid.
In a video call with producer Maleek Berry, Daddy Showkey recalled visiting Wizkid’s home years ago. During the visit, he discovered he was trending online after Wizkid had posted about him. Curious about all the buzz, he asked questions—and that’s when Wizkid stepped in to guide him through the world of Instagram, even helping him set up his account.
Later on, KCee also pitched in, teaching him how to navigate the app and engage better with his audience. Grateful for the support, Daddy Showkey thanked both artists for helping him adapt and grow in a fast-changing digital world.
Sharing the story on Instagram, he wrote:
“I had a great conversation with @maleekberry and told him how @wizkidayo introduced me to Instagram and helped me open an account. @iam_kcee also showed me how to move around the app. Life is about learning—and using what you learn.”
Over time, Daddy Showkey has consistently praised Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido for taking Nigerian music to the global stage, often calling them the new “ghetto fighters” for putting the country’s talent in the spotlight.
