Renowned socialite and celebrity barman, Okechukwu Pascal, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has issued a call to Nigerians, urging them to comply whenever they receive summonses from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He emphasized that attempting to evade the EFCC’s summons is futile, as the agency will inevitably track down the individual.
Cubana Chief Priest, who recently obtained bail after being arraigned in court by the EFCC for alleged financial misconduct, shared his perspective on Thursday amidst the efforts of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to avoid arrest by the anti-graft Commission over allegations of financial mismanagement during his tenure.
In response to a blog post following the EFCC’s declaration of Bello as wanted, Cubana Chief Priest stated that the anti-graft agency operates within the bounds of the law and urged Nigerians to honor their summonses. He described the EFCC as a place for individuals of high status to address legal matters.
In his statement, he said, “The Eagle will always fly so high to catch you wherever you hide. There’s no need to flee when @officialefcc invites you; simply attend and cooperate. They conduct investigations and legal proceedings without resorting to violence. Their facilities provide all necessities, including accommodation, meals, and amenities. So, why attempt to evade? How long can one escape? The EFCC is a prestigious institution.”
Cubana Chief Priest’s message emphasizes the importance of accountability and adherence to legal processes, highlighting the futility of evading legal authorities.
