Floyd Mayweather’s daughter has been sentenced in connection with a stabbing in 2020.
Iyanna Mayweather, also known as Yaya, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on April 4, 2020, after stabbing Lapattra Jacobs inside NBA YoungBoy’s home. According to Click2Houston, the 22-year-old received Deferred Adjudication of Guilt and was sentenced to six years of probation on Thursday.
Yaya confronted YoungBoy and Jacobs, who has a son with the rapper, and announced that she was YoungBoy’s fiancée during the incident. Following a verbal altercation, Mayweather allegedly attacked Jacobs in the kitchen with two knives.
Jacobs was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to her arm after suffering multiple lacerations. Mayweather, who claimed Jacobs provoked her by pulling her hair, was arrested for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Yaya faced up to 20 years in prison. Prosecutors recommended six years of deferred adjunction, which is offered to first-time offenders as an alternative to jail time.
YoungBoy and Mayweather have a son together. Yaya gave birth to a baby boy in January 2021.
