Jennifer Awele, wife of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, has shared a deeply emotional message of gratitude to God as their son Jason celebrates his graduation.
In her heartfelt post, Jennifer thanked God for being her constant source of strength and provision, especially since the painful loss of her husband. She expressed appreciation for the unwavering love and support from family, friends, and well-wishers during what has been a challenging journey.
She reflected on God’s comforting presence—calling Him both a husband to the widow and a father to the fatherless—and shared how, even in moments of doubt, divine help always came through.
Marking the milestone with a mix of joy and sorrow, she acknowledged that the day held special meaning for her late husband, who had once looked forward to witnessing his son’s achievement. Though absent in body, she affirmed that Junior Pope’s love, teachings, and memories remain alive in their hearts.
“Thank You, Lord, for Jason. Thank You for standing in as a father and always showing up when we don’t even have the words. We know you’re proud of us from above. We miss you every day, Junior Pope. Keep resting and keep watching over us,” she wrote.
She also extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who has continued to support her family and help raise her children, describing the moment as a beautiful close to one chapter and the start of an even brighter future.
Junior Pope tragically passed away in April 2024 following a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State.
