Jim Iyke definitely didn’t go the traditional route when wishing Kate Henshaw a happy 54th birthday.
In a long Instagram post that mixed deep emotion with sarcasm, the Nollywood star reflected on their early years together, sharing how he once had feelings for Kate while she treated him like a kid brother. According to Jim, he was 23 at the time and wanted more than just friendship—but Kate apparently didn’t see him that way.
He recalled how she always looked out for him: giving him audition tips, sliding money into his hands when he needed help, and offering guidance when he was just finding his way in the industry. Despite this support, Jim admitted he felt frustrated that his romantic feelings were never reciprocated—and even joked about how different their lives might have been had she given him a chance.

But the message took an emotional turn too. Jim noted that Kate later married someone else and started a family, which he said ended “in praise.” He also praised her for being a standard of beauty and discipline that younger women today try—often unsuccessfully—to emulate.
