It has come to light that Yul Edochie’s lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, representing May Edochie, has made claims regarding Yul’s denial of marriage to actress Judy Austin. Ugwuonye asserts that despite their appearances in movies and skits together, Yul denies any marital ties to Judy, suggesting that their on-screen chemistry is being misconstrued as real-life matrimony.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Ugwuonye revealed that the divorce proceedings between May and Yul faced an unexpected hurdle during a scheduled court session at the FCT High Court in Abuja on 5th March. He alleges that Yul and Judy are credited with causing this delay.
Ugwuonye further elaborated on the defense strategy adopted by Yul and Judy. He claimed that they disavowed any marital bond and argued that their relationship lacked legal recognition, asserting that they are merely collaborators in skits.
According to May’s legal representation, her initial petition mentioned a traditional marriage ceremony between Yul and Judy purportedly held on 24th April 2022 in Anambra State. However, Yul and Judy, in their court responses, vehemently denied the existence of such a ceremony, dismissing it as a concocted tale.
