The Federal Government has announced public holidays for the festive season: Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 26, 2024, for Christmas and Boxing Day, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, for New Year celebrations.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, in Abuja.

“This season is an opportunity for both personal reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us practice kindness and goodwill towards one another, regardless of our differences,” he said.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring peace, security, and progress across the country. He called on Nigerians to remain united and dedicated to the nation’s growth.
