Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini Denies Poisoning Allegations, Assures Good Health
In a video message shared with South African media, Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini addressed the recent speculation surrounding his health. Contradictory statements emerged after the Zulu traditional prime minister expressed concerns about the king’s well-being and suspected poisoning, leading to his treatment in neighboring Eswatini.
However, in the video, the king firmly denied any poisoning claims and reassured the public that he was in good health. He clarified that he had scheduled routine medical check-ups, which he chose to undergo in Eswatini.

The king emphasized, “I am not poisoned. I am well. I feel 100%. I’m happy, everything is well functioning, and there is no poison whatsoever.” He urged the Zulu people and the royal family to remain cautious and not believe everything they hear.
Additionally, in a conversation with the AFP news agency, King Misuzulu reiterated his physical well-being, stating that he was “very fit and sound.”
As a prominent figure, King Misuzulu’s ascension to the throne last year following the passing of his father, King Goodwill Zwelithini, was marred by a contentious dispute over royal succession. Despite the challenges, the king continues to fulfill his responsibilities with resilience and maintains his commitment to the well-being of the Zulu people.
