Bukky Wright Shares How Her Children Helped Her Overcome Depression
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about her past struggles with depression and how her children played a crucial role in helping her heal.
In a recent interview with media personality Teju Baby Face, Bukky revealed that she went through a difficult period where she had to rely on antidepressants. However, her children stepped in to support her and gradually helped her break free from the cycle.
Describing them as her greatest critics and strongest support system, she shared that they often reminded her to slow down, take life easier, and prioritize her own happiness.
“There was a time I was battling depression and taking antidepressants,” she admitted. “But my children helped me through it. They always remind me that I’ve spent so much of my life focusing on them, and now it’s time to focus on myself—enjoy life and have fun.”
Why She Took a Break from Acting
Bukky Wright also spoke about why she put her acting career on hold while living in the U.S. She explained that she took a break from entertainment to explore a career in tech—something many people doubted she would succeed in.
Despite stepping away from the screen for a while, the actress has now announced her plans to balance both careers. She assured fans that she is making a comeback and encouraged them to look forward to her return to the entertainment industry.
