Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has criticized Cubana Chief Priest for allegedly neglecting his family members. His comments came in response to the ongoing dispute between Cubana Chief Priest and Afrobeats artist Burna Boy.
The controversy began when Burna Boy shared a video of a man claiming to be Chief Priest’s relative. The man, who repairs phones at the Alaba International Market in Lagos, was offered $30,000 by Burna Boy as a gesture to uplift him, and the singer fulfilled his promise.
In reaction, Chief Priest denied the man was his relative, stating on his Instagram stories that he has only one brother and two sisters. He further asserted that he doesn’t owe his extended family anything, encouraging them to work for their own success.
Responding to Chief Priest’s remarks, Fayose took to Instagram to express his views. He argued that people shouldn’t expect loyalty from family members they’ve neglected.
He added, “You say money is like water, yet your family dines with your enemies. Charity begins at home. If you ignore your family, don’t be surprised when they turn their backs on you in difficult times. The family you neglect will be your greatest disappointment.”
