Andrew Parker Bowles, former husband of Queen Consort Camilla, will be present at Westminster Abbey to witness his ex-wife’s crowning.
Andrew Parker Bowles, the ex-husband of Queen Consort Camilla, is said to be in the front row at Westminster Abbey to witness King Charles’ coronation.
Parker Bowles, according to The Sunday Times, will be present to witness his first wife’s coronation alongside the new king.
Camilla and Parker Bowles married in 1973 and have two children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, together. Parker Bowles married Rosemary Pitman in 1996, while Camilla married Prince Charles in 2005. The former couple divorced in 1995 after splitting up in the 1980s.
Camilla and Parker Bowles’ children, as well as their grandchildren, will serve as Camilla’s pages of honor at the coronation ceremony.
The train of Camilla’s robes will be carried by Tom’s son Freddie and Laura’s twin sons Gus and Louis, all of whom are 13 years old.
Sarah Ferguson was not invited to Charles’s coronation due to “past conduct”
Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, has confirmed that she has not been invited to the event, citing their divorce.
She told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that she is not offended and that she cannot have it both ways because she is divorced. She also stated that even if she is not present at the state event, she can attend in private.
Sarah had declined to attend the event due to her previous behavior, according to royal commentator Tom Bower. Bower also stated that her presence would elicit critical commentary, which King Charles does not require. Some royal observers, however, have expressed surprise at the decision to exclude her from the coronation.
