Veteran Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, is marking a major milestone today as he celebrates his 70th birthday. Fans and well-wishers have flooded social media to honor the legendary actor, who has become an iconic figure in the Nigerian film industry.
Osuofia began the celebrations by sharing a heartfelt message on his Instagram: “Chi Efogo, it’s my 70th birthday! What else can I say? To God be all the glory. Special thanks to you all for being part of this journey. I love you all.”
Celebrities and fans alike quickly took to the comment section to send their warm wishes. Actor Ken Erics posted, “Happy Birthday Sir. Keep inspiring generations. Not only is Nkem Owoh one of Nollywood’s most beloved comic actors, but he is also a talented singer who has released several popular songs. His incredible career has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2008 for his role in Stronger Than Pain. In 2017, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 13th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Born on February 7, 1955, in Udi, Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria, Owoh studied Engineering at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. His career has spanned decades, with his infectious humor and distinct performances making him a household name.
