Cristiano Ronaldo might be gearing up for a change as talks between him and Al-Nassr seem to be hitting some roadblocks. Since joining the Saudi club in January 2023, the superstar’s future has become uncertain amid reports of disagreements behind the scenes.
According to Saudi journalist Mohammed Al-Dwesh, Ronaldo’s recent requests—like wanting a new coach and specific foreign signings—haven’t been met, fueling speculation that he could be on his way out.
Al-Dwesh shared, “Ronaldo may leave Al-Nassr and is considering options nearby. The club’s refusal to meet his demands has put him at an important crossroads.”
One possible destination making waves is Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr’s city rival, which would surely add an exciting twist to Saudi football and offer Ronaldo a fresh challenge as he approaches 40.
With his contract set to expire in June 2025, time is ticking for both Ronaldo and the club to find common ground.
Journalist Nicolò Schira added that Ronaldo’s decision is expected soon. “He’s got several tempting offers and wants to keep playing for at least two more seasons,” Schira noted.
So far, Ronaldo’s season stats at Al-Nassr are impressive: 33 goals and 4 assists in 39 matches. Still, the club hasn’t yet captured the major titles they hoped for when they signed him, raising questions about whether their goals align moving forward.
