Cristiano Ronaldo Reflects on Al Nassr’s AFC Champions League Exit and the Road Ahead
Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr, shared his disappointment after the team’s narrow 3-2 loss to Kawasaki Frontale in the AFC Champions League semi-finals, effectively ending their hopes for the prestigious title this season.
As the season draws to a close, Al Nassr finds itself trailing eight points behind leaders Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, with only five matches left to play. Unfortunately, this means Ronaldo is staring at another season without silverware in Saudi Arabia.
In a heartfelt post on social media platform X, the 40-year-old superstar expressed gratitude to the club’s loyal supporters and praised his teammates for their tireless efforts throughout the campaign. Ronaldo wrote: “Sometimes, the dream has to wait. I’m incredibly proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch. Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and stood by us every step of the way. Your support means the world.”
This semi-final exit follows a similar fate for Lionel Messi and his team at Inter Miami, who were also eliminated from the Concacaf Champions Cup in the semi-finals after a crushing 5-1 aggregate loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Both football icons face early exits from continental competitions this season, but their commitment to their teams and fans remains unshaken.
