Joy as Jumoke George’s Daughter, Adeola, Returns Home After Four Years in Mali
There’s finally a happy ending to a painful chapter for Nollywood actress Jumoke George, as her daughter Adeola has safely returned to Nigeria after four years away.
Jumoke had recently opened up during a heartfelt interview with Biola Adebayo on the Talk to B podcast, sharing the anguish of not knowing her daughter’s whereabouts. According to her, Adeola had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan and was last heard from when she said she was heading to Lagos.
What followed was a long and silent disappearance—until recent efforts revealed that Adeola was in Mali, having been trafficked.
Thanks to the intervention of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Adeola was brought back home.
On Monday, May 19, 2025, Dabiri-Erewa confirmed via her X account that 41-year-old Adeola had finally arrived in Nigeria. She was received alongside actress Biola Adebayo, who first brought the story to public attention, and actor Adeniyi Johnson.
“Just received Adeola, daughter of actress Jumoke George, who hadn’t seen or heard from her in four years. She’s now back from Mali,” Dabiri-Erewa shared.
After years of worry, the reunion marks a powerful moment of relief—and a reminder of the importance of speaking out and seeking help.
