Afro Nation Portugal 2025: A Star-Studded Celebration of Music and Culture
The countdown to Afro Nation Portugal 2025 is on, and this year’s edition promises to be bigger than ever as the festival marks its fifth anniversary with an incredible lineup of global music icons.
Legendary R&B queen Mary J. Blige will make her much-anticipated debut at the festival with a special sunset performance, joining an already electrifying list of headliners. Afrobeats superstar Davido has also been confirmed, sharing the stage with Burna Boy and Tems for what is set to be an unforgettable three-day spectacle in Portimão, Portugal, from July 9 to 11, 2025.
For Davido, this performance comes at a milestone moment in his career. His highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, is set to drop in March, and just days before Afro Nation, he will be headlining London’s 80,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 3.
The festival’s latest artist announcement brings even more diversity to the lineup. French rap icon Booba, Haitian star Joé Dwèt Filé, and Cape Verdean-French singer Ronisia are among the fresh additions. Meanwhile, the amapiano-focused Piano People stage will showcase talents like Sierra Leonean DJ and producer The Therapist, alongside South African sensations Felo Le Tee, LeeMcKrazy, and Scotts Maphuma.
Earlier announcements have already set the stage for an unforgettable festival. Ghanaian artist Amaarae, amapiano powerhouse Uncle Waffles, Cape Verdean star June Freedom, Nigerian rising star Qing Madi, and British-Nigerian R&B talent Odeal are all set to perform. South African stars Young Stunna and Nkosazana Daughter, dancehall favorite Dexta Daps, French rap artist Naza, and Congolese singer Inoss’B will also be lighting up the stage, adding even more energy to this highly anticipated event.
