U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed four senior government officials appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, in a move that signals a shift in administration priorities. The announcement came via Trump’s first post on Truth Social after being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
In his post, Trump explained that these officials were let go because they did not align with his administration’s vision for America’s future. He hinted that more such actions were likely to follow.
“We are just getting started! My Presidential Personnel Office is currently working to identify and remove over a thousand appointees from the previous administration who do not share our goal of making America great again,” Trump wrote.
Trump used his signature catchphrase from The Apprentice, declaring, “YOU’RE FIRED!” He listed the officials dismissed: Jose Andres, from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition; Mark Milley, from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; Brian Hook, from the Wilson Center for Scholars; and Keisha Lance Bottoms, from the President’s Export Council.
This announcement serves as their “Official Notice of Dismissal,” Trump added.
In addition to the personnel changes, Trump took decisive action on executive orders. On Monday, he reversed several orders put in place under Biden that promoted LGBTQ rights and diversity initiatives. His new decrees define gender strictly as male or female and eliminate federal diversity programs. This policy shift is a direct challenge to the previous administration’s stance on equality and inclusion.
Trump’s move reflects his continued opposition to what he terms “woke culture.” Throughout his campaign, he criticized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, alleging they unfairly discriminated against certain groups, particularly white men.
One of Trump’s new executive orders condemns DEI programs as “illegal and immoral,” claiming they have permeated federal policies and operations, from airline safety to military operations.
Trump’s actions demonstrate a firm stance on reshaping government priorities in line with his administration’s values, continuing to reshape the national political landscape.
