Nigerian heavyweight star Efe Ajagba has earned a spot among the world’s top 10 heavyweights, according to the latest rankings from The Ring magazine.
The 30-year-old fighter now holds the number 10 position, marking a big step forward in his career. With a record of 20 wins, just one loss, and one draw—14 of those victories coming by knockout—Ajagba has been rebuilding his momentum with strong performances that caught global attention.
At the very top of the list, Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk stands as the reigning champion, followed by Britain’s Tyson Fury in the number one challenger spot. New Zealand’s Joseph Parker sits in second, while Germany’s Agit Kabayel takes third.
The reshuffled rankings also brought a surprising change—Anthony Joshua is no longer in the top 10. The former two-time world champion has not fought since September 2024, when he suffered consecutive defeats to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois. His inactivity and setbacks cost him his place among the division’s best.
With Joshua out, Ajagba now carries the Nigerian flag alone in the heavyweight top 10.
Founded in 1922, The Ring is widely regarded as one of boxing’s most respected voices, with rankings decided by a panel of journalists and historians.
