Gospel artist Frank Edwards has shared a touching story about how the late Rev. Uma Ukpai miraculously healed him of asthma and pneumonia when he was just eight years old.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, Edwards recalled the life-changing moment that took place during one of Rev. Ukpai’s crusades in Enugu. He expressed deep gratitude for the impact the evangelist had on his life and countless others.
“At age 8, I was healed of asthma and pneumonia at one of your crusades in Enugu. Thank you for touching lives in such a powerful way. You finished well, Papa. Rest on,” Edwards wrote.
Rev. Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6 at 80, was the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He was widely respected for his revival crusades, healing ministries, and humanitarian efforts.
His initiatives included the Uma Ukpai Eye Centre, King of Kings Hospital, and the Uma Ukpai School of Theology — all aimed at improving lives through faith and service.
Beginning his ministry after a series of divine encounters, Rev. Ukpai became a beacon of hope, holding revival programs across Nigeria and several African nations. Despite enduring personal tragedies, including the loss of two children, he remained steadfast in his mission and faith.
Following his passing, gospel ministers such as Nathaniel Bassey and Moses Bliss took to social media to celebrate his remarkable legacy and lifelong devotion to God’s work.
