Bauchi State Governor Shuts Down Schools for Ramadan
Governor Bala Mohammed has directed that all schools in Bauchi State suspend academic activities in observance of Ramadan.
The state’s Ministry of Education, through its Information Officer, Jalaludeen Maina, confirmed the decision on Friday, stating that the closure aligns with the official academic calendar for the 2024-2025 session.
According to Maina, schools will be closed from March 1 to April 5, affecting both public and private institutions, including primary, secondary, and tertiary schools across the state.
He emphasized that the decision ensures students can fully participate in the fasting period without the demands of school activities.
“This break is already part of the approved academic schedule. Students will have the opportunity to observe Ramadan at home and resume their studies immediately after,” Maina explained.
Academic activities are set to resume once the fasting period concludes.
