Buckingham Palace has not yet extended an invitation to the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend King Charles III’s coronation.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were both invited to the ceremony, young Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were not.
Harry and Meghan have not confirmed whether they will attend the coronation, which will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
According to The Telegraph, the couple has been told that there is a chance that the children will be included on the list of those invited if the Sussexes accept the invitation.
“I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence regarding the coronation from His Majesty’s office,” a spokesperson for Harry said in early March.
“At this time, we will not make an immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend.”
The reason why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children aren’t invited to the coronation
According to a royal source, Archie and Lilibet are “very young,” which is most likely why they have not been invited to the coronation.
Meanwhile, both Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children are expected to attend the ceremony.
However, Prince George is nine years old, and Princess Charlotte will turn eight just days before the coronation.
However, William and Kate have yet to decide whether Prince Louis, who will be five years old next month, will attend the event.
They may decide that Prince Louis, like three-year-old Prince Archie and one-year-old Princess Lilibet, is too young for the day’s festivities.
In any case, decisions must be made quickly because the event is less than two months away.
