Bimbo Akintola recently shared a throwback story that caught some attention—and it involves fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.
During a candid podcast chat, Bimbo opened up about meeting Iyabo when she was just 19. Bright-eyed, determined, and eager to break into the movie world, Iyabo showed up at Bimbo’s doorstep with big dreams.
Bimbo, moved by her passion, pulled a few strings and helped her land a major role—something she rarely does. But things didn’t go quite as planned. According to Bimbo, the surprise came when Iyabo appeared on set… pregnant.
“I don’t beg for roles, but I did for her,” Bimbo recalled. “She was young, ambitious, and I wanted to support that. But I didn’t see that coming.”
On another front, Iyabo Ojo has cleared the air about rumors tying her to the controversial blog, Gistlover.
While speaking with comedian AY, she shut down any claims of being connected to the faceless page. According to her, the rumors aren’t just false—they’re far from reality.
She added that most of the blog’s content probably comes from people close to the personalities being discussed—not from her.
Looks like there’s always more than one side to the story in Nollywood.
