Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has revealed the reason she walked out of her marriage. The actress shared that she left because she was the primary financial provider in her union with actor Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole.
Reflecting on her marriage, which ended in 2019, Jegede opened up in a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast. She expressed regret over choosing love over financial stability. Jegede stated, “He [my ex-husband]is eight years older than me. But the moment we got married, if I told him, ‘You dey crease,’ he would say I’m disrespecting him. If he was the same person I got married to, maybe things would have been different.”
She continued, “But that wasn’t the main reason I left the marriage. Let me just say the fact, I was bringing in more money. I’m taking care of my son like nobody else exists around me. It’s not easy. Looking back, I would have chosen financial stability over love.”
