2Baba Apologizes to Natasha, His Kids, and Fans After Controversial Comment
Nigerian music icon 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) has publicly apologized after sparking backlash over a recent comment about sexual loyalty.
In a recent chat with media personality Nedu, the singer shared his views on monogamy, stating that while a man can truly love one woman, remaining sexually committed to only her isn’t something he believes most men are “built” for. The interview came months after his separation from longtime partner Annie Macaulay-Idibia and stirred strong reactions online.
When asked whether it was possible to be both a faithful man and 2Face, the artist responded candidly:
“I’ve said this before and caught heat for it—but I’ll speak for myself. I believe a man can love one woman with all his heart, but when it comes to sexual exclusivity… it’s a different story.”
The statement didn’t sit well with many, especially as it followed his very public romantic history and recent relationship with his new partner, Natasha Osawaru.
Shortly after the clip began circulating online, 2Baba took to Instagram to issue a heartfelt apology.
“I know I messed up with what I said. I won’t lie—I didn’t think it through,” he admitted in the video.
“To my fans, to my kids, and most importantly to Natasha—the love of my life—I’m really sorry. That’s not the message I want to put out. That’s not who I am.”
The apology came across as raw and honest, with 2Baba acknowledging that he may face criticism or even “get canceled,” but choosing to own up to his words.
This isn’t the first time the legendary musician has been open about the complexities of love, relationships, and regret—but this time, the conversation has struck a deeper nerve among fans and critics alike.
As the dust settles, one thing is clear: even icons have moments they wish they could take back. And sometimes, it takes more than talent to fix them—it takes humility.
