Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has cleared the air after reports surfaced online claiming he was arrested in London.
The rumor began when a blogger alleged that the singer missed a UK tour stop due to being detained following a domestic dispute with his wife, Natasha.
2Baba, however, took to Instagram to set the record straight. He explained that he was dealing with a serious medical emergency, which prevented him from performing. He also expressed gratitude to his fans who showed up for the concert and promised to make it up to them.
“First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen. And please, if una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This allegedly, I don tire,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, his management dismissed ongoing claims that controversies surrounding his marriage have overshadowed his career.
Chioma Ebubedike-Igbokwe, Head of Legal and Communication at A Guy Entertainment, noted that 2Baba’s influence on music is far bigger than social media chatter. She stressed that afrobeats’ global recognition today was built on the shoulders of trailblazers like him.
According to her, the team is focused on building platforms that highlight 2Baba’s unmatched contribution to the culture, ensuring his voice and artistry remain timeless rather than caught up in comparisons with the new generation.
For fans, one thing is clear: despite the noise and distractions, 2Baba’s legacy stands firm.
