On the eve of King Charles III’s coronation, Prince William and Kate Middleton had a full schedule, including hosting a reception attended by first lady Jill Biden.
At a special reception at Buckingham Palace on Friday, the Prince and Princess of Wales mingled with Biden and a number of other guests, including Biden’s granddaughter, Finnegan Biden. Foreign royal families and Ukraine’s first lady, Olena Zelenska, were among those who attended.
Kate, 41, was stunning in a blue draped gown. According to People, she accessorized the gown with sapphire and diamond fringe earrings previously owned by the Queen Mother.
It’s rumored that she’s worn the jewelry before, for a Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey in 2021.
Earlier in the day, the royal couple hosted other dignitaries for lunch and went on a surprise walkabout.
As one might expect, the royals have had a busy few weeks, especially in the days leading up to Saturday’s coronation ceremony. William and Kate visited the Dog & Duck pub in London on Thursday, where they spoke with staff and practiced their pint-pouring skills.

William, 40, and Kate started their day on the tube.
William and Prince George, both 9, will play key roles in Charles’ coronation on Saturday. While no roles have been announced for William and Kate’s other children, they will be present for the events.
A well-wisher told People while Kate was at the pub that she admitted she was nervous about the crowning ceremony, but their three children, George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are not.
“When I asked if the kids were excited about the coronation, she replied, ‘They’re very excited.'” They had their rehearsal yesterday, so they knew what to expect,'” Seattle, Washington resident Mandy Leifheit told the outlet.
“She said she’s more nervous than the kids because it’s such a big event for the kids.” “She said Louis would be there and he’d remember it,” Leifheit added.
