Amidst London’s downpours, the King and Queen made their return as Charles, the British monarch, prepares for expected treatment after his cancer diagnosis.
Charles and Queen Camilla arrived via helicopter at Buckingham Palace from their Sandringham residence on Tuesday, greeted by waving well-wishers as they made their way to Clarence House.
Last week’s announcement revealed the monarch’s battle with “a form of cancer,” prompting an outpouring of support from the public. Charles, though postponing public appearances, remains engaged in state matters, meticulously tending to his red boxes of state papers behind the scenes.
While Charles commenced his initial cancer treatment last week, the Queen assures he is “doing extremely well under the circumstances,” expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support extended to the King.
Photographed amidst the rain, Charles’s diagnosis follows a recent hospital stay for treatment of an enlarged prostate. As he focuses on his health, the Prince of Wales stands poised to represent his father at public events.
Meanwhile, Prince William and his family reportedly spend their half-term break at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk residence nestled within the King’s Sandringham estate.
