Kingsley Adonu, an accomplished entrepreneur and the founder/chairman of S Mobile Group, has unveiled plans to inaugurate an innovation center in Enugu State, named S Mobile Tech Hub.
The establishment of the Tech Hub, Adonu revealed, is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of S Mobile Group aimed at fostering skills development, youth entrepreneurship, and job creation in emerging technology and innovations within the state.
Acknowledging the forward-thinking approach of the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, in reshaping the economy of the Southeastern State, Adonu emphasized the hub’s significance in channeling the creative potential of young people towards productive endeavors, steering them away from social vices like Internet fraud.
As the Chief Executive Officer, Adonu has led S Mobile Group to unparalleled success, overseeing a diverse portfolio of businesses spanning telecommunications, oil and gas, real estate, hospitality, water production, agriculture, technology, e-commerce, energy, education, sports, entertainment, logistics, and financial services, with a global presence extending to the UK, USA, China, South Africa, and Canada.
Under Adonu’s visionary leadership, S Mobile Group has established itself as a key partner for MTN, marking its impactful presence in the telecommunications industry. His strategic foresight has positioned the group as a dynamic player across various sectors.
As a catalyst for development, S Mobile aims to revolutionize the technology sector in the South East through its proposed hub, offering business support services to empower young entrepreneurs in the region and enabling existing enterprises to thrive.
Adonu expressed, “S Mobile Tech Hub embodies our commitment to nurturing a dynamic startup ecosystem in the region, starting with Enugu State. It reflects our alignment with the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, who is dedicated to building a resilient city with reduced poverty levels.”
He emphasized the hub’s mission to leverage emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and big data to accelerate its programs, recognizing the growing role of tech startups as economic drivers in the 21st century.
Furthermore, Adonu highlighted the hub’s focus on supporting impactful projects aimed at job creation and poverty alleviation, particularly among young Nigerians, to enhance the socio-economic landscape.
Upon completion, the hub will boast state-of-the-art facilities including high-speed internet access, shared and private office spaces, and a well-equipped robotics training lab, among others.
