Lagos businessman and social personality, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel — widely known as E-Money — has been picked up by officials for reportedly mishandling local and foreign currencies.
According to inside sources, E-Money was taken into custody Monday night at his home in the Omole area of Lagos. The move follows concerns over video clips and reports suggesting he had been seen tossing dollar bills at public events — a practice considered a violation under certain financial conduct laws.
An official familiar with the case shared that E-Money is now being questioned and undergoing initial review. Once inquiries are wrapped up, he may face formal charges.
“He was picked up at his Lagos residence,” the source noted. “He’s currently being questioned, and further steps will be determined after the review.”
Another insider disclosed that E-Money is being flown to Abuja for additional questioning, adding, “Yes, he’s in custody and en route to the capital to meet with investigators.”
