Neymar Stuns Fans with a Breathtaking Corner Kick Goal
Brazilian football star Neymar left fans in awe after scoring a sensational goal directly from a corner kick during Santos’ dominant 3-0 victory over Internacional de Limeira in the Paulista Championship on Sunday.
Reflecting on the moment, the 33-year-old shared how he turned crowd jeers into fuel for brilliance, delivering an incredible “Olympic goal.”
“As I stepped up for the corner, the fans started booing. I encouraged them to get even louder,” Neymar recalled. “At first, I aimed for an assist. But when I came back for another corner and heard more taunts, I thought, ‘Alright, this time, I’m scoring!’” He laughed as he relived the experience.
With a perfectly placed strike in the 27th minute, Neymar curled the ball from the left side straight into the net, catching goalkeeper Igo Gabriel off guard. The ball kissed the far post before crossing the line, earning applause even from rival supporters.
Since rejoining Santos in January on a six-month loan deal, Neymar has been working to regain top form after injuries sidelined him for much of the past 18 months, limiting his appearances for Al Hilal.
“I’m taking things step by step, finding my rhythm again. I can’t turn back time to when I was 19—oh, how I miss those days—but I feel sharper and more confident with each game,” he said.
Beyond club football, Neymar has his sights set on returning to the Brazil national team, especially with crucial World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina on the horizon.
“If I get the call, I’m ready,” Neymar stated. “Representing Brazil has always been an incredible honor, and I’d love nothing more than to wear the national jersey again.”
Brazil’s coach is set to announce the squad on March 7. As the country’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals, Neymar has been absent from international duty since suffering an ACL injury in October 2023. Now, with a renewed spark, he’s eager for another shot on the world stage.
