The premiere of Abanisete: The Ancestor turned into a parade of culture and elegance. The red carpet shimmered with bold colours, regal fabrics, and traditional styles that beautifully echoed the film’s theme of heritage and ancestry.
Omowunmi Dada floated in with striking grace, dressed in a rich burgundy boubou. A neatly placed red cap and layers of beaded necklaces draped across her shoulders gave her an aura of timeless royalty. Gold bangles on her wrists added just the right sparkle, sealing the look in quiet sophistication.
Adedimeji Lateef followed with equal grandeur, stepping out in a deep-blue agbada decorated with cream and gold embroidery. The intricate designs across the chest gave his attire a ceremonial air, while his matching cap and white beads tied it all together in seamless harmony.
Itele D Icon, who produced and co-directed the film, embraced a maroon agbada detailed with blue and gold accents. With its fringed hem and wide sleeves, the outfit carried a sense of rhythm and movement, perfectly balanced by a fila and layered beads that rooted his look in Yoruba tradition.
Abanisete: The Ancestor is a story woven with heritage, mysticism, and the bond between the living and those who came before. The red carpet itself mirrored that spirit—every outfit a celebration of identity and pride. The film hits cinemas nationwide on August 15.
