Shakira Confirms Peru Concert After Sudden Hospitalization
Colombian music sensation Shakira has assured fans that her scheduled concert in Peru will proceed as planned, despite a recent health scare that led to the cancellation of a previous show.
The 48-year-old singer was briefly hospitalized on Saturday night, forcing her to call off Sunday’s performance. However, she took to Instagram on Monday to confirm that the gates of Lima’s National Stadium would open at 4:00 PM (local time), with the show set to begin at 8:15 PM. She did not address her health in the post.
Event organizers, Masterlive, also confirmed that Monday’s concert will go on as planned and assured fans that a new date for the postponed show will be announced soon.
Shakira is currently on her first world tour in seven years. Titled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), the tour launched in Rio de Janeiro shortly after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album.
With an illustrious career spanning decades, Shakira has sold over 90 million records globally and holds four Grammy Awards. She remains one of the most influential Latin artists in the industry.
Her tour includes nearly 50 performances across Latin America before heading to North America, where she will continue performing in the United States and Canada.
