Tems just scored a huge win — and served a look while doing it.
The Billboard Global Power Players event made its debut in London, pulling some of the industry’s heaviest hitters together, and Tems was right at the center of it all, receiving the prestigious Diamond Award.
She walked up to accept the honor in a stunning blue mini dress that turned heads for all the right reasons. “Being African and a musician is a whole new world,” she said with quiet strength, following a heartfelt introduction by Nkosiyati Khumalo, the new editor of Billboard Africa. She went on to express gratitude not just for the recognition, but for Billboard’s role in amplifying African talent globally.
“This is a real honour,” she said, “especially at a time when African music is rising in ways we’ve never seen before.”
