President Tinubu Heads to France Before African Union Summit
President Bola Tinubu has embarked on a trip to Paris, France, for a private visit before proceeding to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This was confirmed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.
According to Onanuga, the president’s stop in France comes ahead of his participation in the African Union (AU) summit, where he will engage with other African leaders. The summit includes the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State, set to take place from February 12 to 16, 2025.
While in Paris, President Tinubu is also expected to hold discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron.
He is scheduled to arrive in Addis Ababa early next week for the high-level continental meeting.
