President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, officially swore in members of the Nigeria Law Reforms Commission (NLRC) just before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) convened at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The brief ceremony, held at the Council Chambers, saw two appointees take the oath of office — Professor Dakas CJ Dakas, who assumes the role of Commission Chairman, and Dr. Uchenna Eugene, appointed as Commissioner.
During the FEC session, presided over by President Tinubu, the council paused for a minute of silence in memory of Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Minister of Agriculture and ex-National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Paying tribute, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, described Ogbeh as a dedicated statesman whose service left a mark on the nation’s progress.
In attendance were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside ministers and representatives of various ministries set to brief the council.
The meeting also came amid speculation about the President’s health — a claim the Presidency has firmly dismissed.
