Victor Osimhen has once again turned down a massive offer from Saudi club Al Hilal, making it clear he’s not ready to leave European football behind just yet.
At 26, Osimhen’s future is attracting serious attention. After a red-hot loan spell at Galatasaray where he netted 37 goals and registered 8 assists, he’s become one of the most talked-about names in the football world. Yet, despite being linked with heavyweights like Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG, Juventus, Manchester United, and even Real Madrid, nothing official has landed on the table.
The sticking point? Reports suggest his salary expectations—around €400,000 per week—might be keeping clubs at arm’s length.
On social media, frustration is bubbling. Former Super Eagles media officer Colin Udoh didn’t mince words. “I challenge anyone to list the top 5 strikers in Europe right now without Osimhen in it,” he posted, sparking plenty of debate.
Ex-Nigerian international Brown Ideye chimed in as well, suggesting there might be more to the silence from top clubs than just numbers. “It’s not like these clubs can’t afford his wages,” he wrote. “Something else must be going on that we’re not seeing.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen isn’t biting on the offers rolling in from the Middle East. According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, the Napoli striker has now waved off a fifth approach from Al Hilal—this time turning down a jaw-dropping €40 million annual deal, plus an extra €5 million in bonuses.
“Victor Osimhen officially rejects Al Hilal’s 5th offer,” Buchi wrote. “He’s made up his mind. No matter the money, he’s not going.”
The message is loud and clear: he wants to stay in Europe. And while nothing is confirmed yet, word is that a top club in Italy is circling, alongside others from across the continent.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the situation on June 8, revealing that although Napoli had struck a €75 million agreement with Al Hilal, the striker simply said no.
“Osimhen has rejected the offer. The clubs agreed on the fee, but he’s not interested in joining the Saudi league,” Romano said.
Galatasaray, where he recently thrived, are still keen to keep him, and the race to sign him is wide open.
As the summer window heats up, Osimhen is keeping fans and clubs guessing. He’s made his position clear—Europe is where he wants to be. Now it’s just a matter of who’s ready to step up and match his ambition.
