TikTok Expands in the UK with 500 New Jobs and a Bigger London Hub
TikTok is doubling down on its presence in the UK, announcing plans to add more than 500 new roles this year—bringing its total workforce in the country to 3,000.
The announcement comes just as London’s Tech Week kicks off, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcoming leaders from some of the world’s biggest tech companies.
In a statement shared on Monday, the popular video app revealed that a brand-new office space in London is on the way—set to be much larger than its current headquarters. Once complete, the company’s total infrastructure investment in the UK will reach roughly £140 million.
TikTok says the UK remains its most active community in Europe, with over 30 million people using the app every month—about half of the country’s population.
“We’re proud to be deepening our commitment here,” said Adam Presser, who leads TikTok’s UK operations and global safety efforts. “Whether it’s through direct job creation or supporting local businesses and creators, the UK plays a central role in our future.”
Despite ongoing concerns in some countries about data privacy and national security, TikTok continues to push its message of safety and accountability. Presser noted that the platform is investing heavily in building a secure and positive online space—not just for users, but for the creators and small businesses that rely on it.
As the tech world turns its attention to London this week, TikTok’s expansion serves as a strong signal: the platform isn’t just here for the trends—it’s here to grow.
