Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has spoken out following the heartbreaking death of rising actor Ola Lawal, which occurred during a movie shoot. In an emotional post shared on Instagram on Monday, June 9, 2025, Johnson called on filmmaker Bola Akande to address what happened on set.
While making it clear he doesn’t hold Bola personally responsible, Adeniyi stressed the importance of transparency and compassion in moments like this. He urged her to speak up, explain her side, and reach out to Ola’s grieving family.
According to him, Ola’s father felt deeply hurt by the way the situation was handled—particularly by what he saw as a lack of sensitivity and humanity during such a painful time.
“We’re devastated by Ola’s passing,” Johnson wrote. “It’s painful that there’s been silence from @bolaakande02. No one is pointing fingers, but people deserve answers. The family deserves support. It’s heartbreaking that not long after the incident, a request was made for Ola’s brother’s account number. It felt cold—like his life had a price tag.”
He also praised fellow filmmaker Segun Okeowo for being one of the few who reached out and showed concern.
Johnson ended his message with a call for justice—not just in name, but in action. A proper farewell, some accountability, and above all, empathy for a life cut short.
“We won’t let this slide,” he added. “Ola’s memory deserves more.”
