Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a deeply emotional tribute following the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, his Portugal teammate and friend.
Jota, 28, and his younger brother Andre lost their lives in a devastating car accident in Spain. The crash happened just after midnight near Cernadilla in Zamora province, where their car veered off the road and caught fire.
Still reeling from the shock, Ronaldo took to social media to express his heartbreak.

“This doesn’t feel real. We were just together, celebrating with the national team. You had just gotten married,” he wrote.
“To your wife, your children, and your entire family — I send my love and strength. I know your spirit will never leave them. Rest easy, Diogo and Andre. You’ll be missed more than words can say.”
Only weeks ago, Jota and Ronaldo stood side by side, celebrating Portugal’s Nations League victory against Spain. Now, that joyous memory stands in sharp contrast to an unimaginable loss.
