Daniel Etim-Effiong Gets Honest About His Past and What It Taught Him
In a candid sit-down with Chude Jideonwo, actor Daniel Etim-Effiong opened up about a chapter in his life many wouldn’t expect—his younger days exploring multiple relationships.
When asked directly whether he had ever been a womanizer, Daniel gave an honest, thoughtful answer. “It depends on how you define it,” he said with a small laugh. “But if you mean dating several women at once—yeah, maybe at one point in my life. Not for long, but it happened.”
For him, that phase wasn’t just about reckless fun. It turned into something deeper. “I see those moments as a learning curve,” he shared. “They helped me understand that what looks exciting on the surface doesn’t always bring the fulfillment you think it will.”
He explained that this mindset—chasing excitement without accountability—can have lasting effects. “If you build a habit of not being committed, it’s not something you can just switch off once you’re married,” he said. “Marriage doesn’t magically erase patterns you’ve been living with for years.”
Daniel now uses his experiences to speak to young people, urging them to be intentional about how they treat relationships. “If you’re used to walking away when things get tough, or juggling multiple people, don’t expect that to disappear when you say ‘I do,’” he said. “It takes discipline to love one person consistently—and that discipline starts long before marriage.”
