Jim Iyke has made it clear there’s one line he won’t cross in his acting career—he will never take on gay roles in Nollywood.
The actor explained that such characters don’t align with his personal values and that he has no interest in scripts that would require him to wear feminine clothing or portray themes he isn’t comfortable with.
While acknowledging that there’s an audience for those kinds of stories, Jim emphasized that his stance is firm and not open to reconsideration.
He recalled a time when a filmmaker sent him a script built around such a role. His response was immediate rejection, making it clear he had no intention of taking part in it.
According to him, some producers try to broaden their reach by including controversial themes in their films, but he chooses to draw the line at roles that don’t sit well with him personally.
In his words, he respects the existence of different communities and their stories, but as far as his acting career goes, he’s decided what works for him—and what doesn’t.
