Several popular musicians, including Justin Bieber, Beyonce, and Snoop Dogg, have been sued by their own fans in the past.
These lawsuits can be filed for a variety of reasons, such as ticket refunds, personal injury, merchandise, meet and greets, and copyright infringement.
Stacey Betts, for example, decided to sue Bieber in 2010, claiming $9.25 million in damages for hearing damage caused by his high-pitched screaming attempt at singing.
Nonetheless, three years later, she explained that she couldn’t afford the lawyer, and the case was dismissed.
Meanwhile, blind fan Mary Conner filed a complaint against Beyonce and Parkwood Entertainment LLC in 2019.
She claimed that the website was discriminating against visually impaired people in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Richard Monroe Jr. attempted to enter the stage during a Snoop Dogg concert in 2005, believing that the singer had invited fans to do so. Monroe Jr. claimed he was beaten by security guards and suffered injuries as a result.
He did, however, sue the singer and everyone else involved in the concert for $22 million. Snoop Dogg, who did not intervene, was found not guilty by the jury, but there was a beating, so the record label, another artist who did intervene, and several staff members were ordered to pay Richard Monroe Jr. $449,400.
